I guess you could start either at the beginning or with Lecture 2. As for how to space them out, this system is so different from how I like to do the readings -- all at once in a 3-hour bath! -- that I have no idea. Use your judgment! I'm happy as long as people have access to the texts and can agree on a shared schedule for finishing each lecture,

But what order should I send them out in, and with what intervals in between? I like the idea of giving people small achievable goals, like, read three pages every time you get an email or some such.

You could send the relevant readings as replies to the existing discussion threads, starting at the beginning. Then all the bases are covered. On Jan 18, 2014 9:25 PM, "Eric Purdy" epurdy@uchicago.edu wrote:
Well, I was thinking of starting the process of mailing out chunks now, and it seemed like I should start with week 2 or week 3, to help people catch up. What should I do?

Instead of a reboot, how about we say that the next two weeks will be devoted to catching up, and then we can move on, either at the earlier speed, or, if people prefer, at half that speed. I think that would work better than a reboot since it seems like people are all over the place in terms of how far along they are; no need to make everyone return to the beginning if only a few need to.
